Thanksgiving weekend (better late than never)

While Mommy was working in the intensive care unit, Daddy was busy preparing delicious meals for  us for Thanksgiving dinner.
A very rare all female medical team in the cardiac intensive care unit at University of Washington (left to right): nursing student, ARNP student, ARNP, cardiology fellow - me, my cardiology attending (MD), PA,  pharmacist, and senior cardiology fellow (MD)
We were so fortunate to have Grandma and Grandpa Benziger come visit for Thanksgiving weekend and we invited Mommy's friends, Martins and Angela Blums, over as well for the fourth year in a row (and after the exploding stuffing incident from last year, I'm a little surprised they said agreed). It was relatively uneventful and unbelievably delicious - highlights included cranberry relish, cranberry wild rice salad, sausage stuffing, cauliflower, and of course turkey with apple and pumpkin pies.
Martins and Angela approve of the stuffing and delicious food
Theo was a good helper preparing the food and Marit enjoyed eating the Reddi-Whip by the spoon fulls.
Mmmm Reddi-Whip!
Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to the zoo and helped drop them off and pick them up at Miss Janet's daycare. We wish we could spend more time with them - maybe next year!
Take 1...
Take 2...Grandma and Grandpa Benziger and our family
We are Thankful for many things this year, but mostly for our family, health, and that we've survived two kids and over five years of post-graduate training! Less than one more to go! Thank goodness! Theo says he is thankful for his toys. Marit isn't old enough to understand the concept, Daddy is thankful that Mommy got a real job (finally), and Mommy is thankful for everything Daddy does to keep the household afloat! It's a wonderful (and crazy) life!

Marit's first birthday present - an animal house and new stuffies!

Thank you Grandpa! Love you!

Thank you Grandma, love you, too!
