Recent clips of Theo seeing our tree for the first time, opening a present, playing with his new toys (and newly discovered toes) and eating oatmeal like a baby bird. Enjoy! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (Go to babybenziger.blogspot.com to view the video).

Theo's First Christmas

"Look at all those presents!" My First Christmas was great! Mommy had to work at the hospital all weekend so Daddy and I brought her lunch on Christmas Day and got to meet all her friends at the hospital (and they loved me!)  Mommy got off "early" and so we could have a nice Christmas dinner and open presents. I got so many toys I thought my head was going to EXPLODE!! I got a jumparoo from my uncle Dan, a rocking Mammoth from Rocheford cousins, lots of toys and books from my Benziger cousins, clothes and toys from both Grandparents, alphabet blocks from Towle cousins, bath toys and a soccer ball rattle from Santa, new ornaments, and lots more (and some packages are still on their way). Despite all my new toys, my favorite pastime right now is to play with my toes. They are so fun to grab and then roll around. I also like when Daddy makes me laugh when he takes his big hands and tickles my belly. I continue to sleep 8-11 hours every night and I'm still gr

Meeting Santa for the first time at the Volunteer Park Conservatory. He's not so bad. I'm five months old now! I keep getting bigger and bigger and when people ask how old I am they say, "That's a healthy looking five-month old" when they really mean, "he's the biggest five-month old I've ever seen!" My blond hairs are getting longer (I swear I'm not bald) and my thumbs are working better so I can pick up things and get them into my mouth faster. Mommy says I'm like a bird when I'm hungry because I open my mouth and tilt my head back a little waiting for the bottle or spoon to feed me. I get along great with my nanny, Annie, and I have a new friend, Elliot, who will be in the nanny share with me starting next week. We did a trial day last week and here's a photo of us. Elliot (2 months old) and I with our nanny, Annie. Asleep in Annie's lap after a long day of eating, playing, going for walks, and eating some mo

The Littlest Turkey

This Thanksgiving was a busy one! Mommy and Daddy brought me on another trip to the airport but this time our destination was freezing cold Chicago (30 degrees!).  At my first Thanksgiving dinner, Mommy and Daddy said they were thankful for many things but first and foremost, they were thankful for me! Second, they were thankful for spending time with family (I met some new friends, my cousins Maya, Zachary, and Danika and Tia Nicole). We were lucky and Mommy got five days off work and so we spent the whole weekend in Chicago and all four of grandparents were there fighting over me. It was great! Grandma and Grandpa's friends, John and Eileen Holtan even made a special trip to meet me. I even tried oatmeal cereal for the first time. It took a few tries to get used to the spoon but then I got it. So far that's the only food they've let me try but I can't wait for a real turkey dinner next year! I still don't roll over much but I can hold my head up like a champ a
