We headed down south to Portland to meet up with some of Mommy and Daddy's friends for the weekend. We went hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail outside of the Hood River. It started out as a nice leisurely, flat, out-and-back hike to a nice waterfall along Herman Creek that was supposed to be no more than 2 miles each way. After about 4 miles (and all uphill), we realized we took a wrong turn and were clearly not anywhere close to the large waterfall and decided to turn around. We did stop to admire a nice smaller waterfall and I enjoyed throwing rocks and getting wet. I walked/ran down hill for over half the trail back to the car and passed out before we left the parking lot. I was pooped (and so was Daddy having carried an extra 35 lbs).
We had lunch at a brewery along the Columbia River and the city of Hood River, which is famous for the wind surfers and sailors. I played along the beach and enjoyed getting dirty in the sand. We hung out in Portland on Sunday and I got to eat my first ice cream cone! Yum!! It was a great trip!
Mommy has her residency graduation on Friday (three years goes by so fast!) and Auntie Annie is coming into town. We get to dress up and go to a fancy dinner and dance. I can't wait!
I've started saying some new words, "Avocado, iPad, meat, please, poop, park, bike, and juice" to name a few. I continue to climb on everything, including rock walls at the park. I love hanging on the monkey bars and jumping off ledges 2 feet tall! I'm learning to ride my scooter but I'm still a bit to short for my balance bike.
