Theo goes to Bainbridge Island

My friends and I were taking a nice walk in the park a mere four blocks from my house on a lovely summer Seattle day when one of them asked if I wanted to take Theo and go to Bainbridge Island for dinner. I was proud of myself for getting him out and going for a walk a mile from our house every day, which so far had gone pretty well, but were we ready to get on a ferry and go to an island? Why not? I thought. We can't stay home forever! We had been out for two hours on our walk and going to Bainbridge was going to be a long time away from the comforts of our living room with the new glider and the 24/7 Olympics coverage that have become our daily routine. We decided to go for it.
An hour later we were scrambling to feed and change Theo, get the diaper bag packed, car seat installed, and arrive in time to get a ticket for the 3:45pm ferry. We unfortunately missed it but we weren't in a rush so we caught the 4:40pm instead. We carried Theo on in the baby sling I bought in Peru and left the car seat in the car and we had a great time!
I was so lucky to have three wonderful friends, Miriam, Katie and Annie, to help with Theo. We wandered through the town, ate some bakery items at Blackbird Bakery, checked out the big boats in the marina, bought a drink and appetizer at Doc's and take our entrees to-go so we could catch the 8:10pm ferry back to Seattle. Theo was a champ! He slept most of the time in the sling and only needed one diaper change and feeding. Seth missed us but he was happy my friends helped me get out and excited that Theo did so well on his first adventure.

Check out the photos of Theo's first adventure:

The delicious locally made Theo chocolates that we had to buy for our little guy on the ferry for his first adventure. Mmmm does he taste good!

Last night, Seth volunteered to baby sit Theo so my good friend Annie and I could go to the Seattle Sounders soccer game. It was great! We won 3-1 and I got to enjoy a few beers and a good time on my first night away from the baby.

Can't forget this cute photo of Baby Theo's little feet!

Our new glider from the Towle Family - thanks so much! It puts him to sleep in no time!
