I probably say this every year but I can't believe we have a 5 year old (and that I have maintained this blog for that long)!

Theo, being the 1st child, always gets a little extra special treatment. This year he had not one, not two, but three birthday celebrations. The first one was an informal fun family birthday party at the new Pastorius cabin on Balsam Lake. Seth and I drove down from Duluth on Sunday afternoon after we found out our offer that we put in out a house in Duluth (714 Ridgewood Rd. Duluth, MN 55804) was accepted! We will be moving in September and are excited to host lots of visitors in our new home. The kids had a great two weeks at Camp Weber and at the new cabin, more details and picture to come by Auntie Annie.

Theo's second birthday party was at the local movie theater with a few of his friends from Janet's preschool (Hudson, Huck, Jory, Elliot and Theo). We saw the Cars 3 movie and then ate hot dogs and burgers at Five Guys afterward. The kids really liked the movie and I liked that the female car was the big champ in the end! Very cool!

Lastly, on Theo's actually birthday, July 14th, he got to open his presents from his extended family. He was super excited about his new games, like Connect Four and Chutes and Ladders, new Disney Planes Fire and Rescue figures, new Hot Wheels racetrack, new shark shirt and socks, new wooden plane and car to paint, new Lego City boat, new Boogie board doodle board, and new science experiments. Thank you to all of the family for the generous gifts! Marit was pretty bummed that she didn't get any presents but she was very helpful opening Theo's many gifts.

Theo is growing well (great actually) and is 46.6 lbs. (75-90th percentile) and 46.5 inches (97-100th percentile) giving his a whopping body mass index (BMI) of 15. Someone is going to get to eat a lot of ice cream when he gets older (and it is not me). The pediatrician says he is doing great. His vision is 20/25 and he passed his hearing test, which means when he doesn't listen to his father it is by choice and not because he can't hear him (but I admit I unintentionally tune him out sometimes, too).
