Camping
By Theo
We had a really really really fun weekend camping. There were 12 adults, 6 three-year olds and 2 babies camping at Scenic Beach State Park on the Hood Canal in Seabeck, WA. Everyone came prepared and most people slept through the night this year (as opposed to multiple crying 2-year olds last year). I slept great in my own sleeping bag and only kicked Daddy once in my sleep. Baby Marit woke up a lot of times on Friday night screaming because she was scared to be in a tent. Mommy drove her around in the car for nap time - worked like a charm - and she slept much better on Saturday cuddled under Mommy's sheet in the sleeping bag. We had perfect weather for a lazy day at the beach and a great campfire where we got to roast marshmallows and stay up super late (10pm). Then there was a light drizzle after breakfast today and so we packed up and headed back on the ferry to Seattle. We had delicious camp food - french toast, pancakes, fruit and eggs for breakfast, PB&J sandwiches for lunch, carnitas and chicken tacos, chips and salsa and quesadillas for dinner, s'mores and cookies for dessert. We had lots of fun and got to run around and play on our scooters and with stomp rockets and eat junk food and the adults enjoyed lounging by the fire drinking cold beverages. I can't wait until next year!
