The Last Frontier... ALASKA!

I was so excited to use my new suitcase and go to the airport but I was so heart broken when Daddy made me check it at the counter and I wouldn't stop talking about it, "My suitcase" for the next hour and a half. We arrived late on Tuesday and met Mommy in Anchorage where she was staying with some Peruvian friends at the World Congress of Epidemiology (held ever three years around the world). We rented a "BIIIIIIIIG car" (i.e. a Great Alaskan Holidays 31-foot RV) and drove around Alaska for the next five days and it was awesome! I saw belugas bobbing, sea otters spinning, sockeye salmon spawning, eagles exploring, humpbacks hoisting, moose modeling, bears - boring, porcupines performing, harbor seals squawking, starfish sitting, puffins pondering, loons launching, elk eating, RVs roaring, boats bobbing, glaciers glistening, stones skipping, waves whispering, sun setting and so much more! We spent two nights in Seward and two nights in Homer on the Kenai Peninsula with my Peruvian tias, Romina and Olenka. They were freezing in the 50 degree weather but we were cozy and despite the sun setting at 10pm, we made a bonfire one night to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I spent hours picking up and throwing rocks or giving them to Daddy to skip into the bay. "Two" I would yell (even if it was 10 skips). We ate lots of delicious salmon (but didn't catch any) and halibut. My potty training regressed a bit after long days in the car but we're getting back on track. I'm talking more and more every day and also developed more of an attitude and am truly a "terrible two." We took the side off my crib and I sleep in a "big boy bed" now and haven't fallen out, yet. Grandma and Grandpa Benziger are coming into town in a few days and I can't wait to see them. Enjoy the photos!
