We made it back from Peru in one piece! The trip home was much better than on the way there and was helped by an 8-hour layover in Atlanta where were got to spend time with mommy's best friend Lizz. They day after we got home, Uncle Dan came up from San Francisco to visit. We had a lot of fun hanging out in Seattle - from throwing rocks at Carkeek Park to playing with my new toys - I wish we could hang out more often. Too bad he's moving to NYC next year but maybe we can convince him to do residency in Seattle!

Mommy finally emerged from the black hole of the intensive care unit at the big county hospital, Harborview. It was a very busy month and she was part of the disaster response team at the hospital for the Oso mudslide. Unfortunately, it was a devastating slide and not very many people were rescued or made it to the hospital in time.
Spring has arrive in Seattle (and I hear it is starting today in Minnesota, too). We are getting our house painted next week and a large bed of tulips popped up which was a nice surprise. Mommy and I are going on an airplane on Friday night to Minnesota so I can have my first real sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Pastorius' house while mommy goes to a conference in Washington D.C. I can't wait to see all mommy's relatives (and hopefully the snow will melt by then).
20 month development
We've started our second session of parent-tot swim lessons at the local pool. I was so excited for my first class that I kept inching my way closer and closer to the edge and almost jumped before mommy said "NO!" Once they put in the steps to climb in, I was the first on in line with a big smile on my face. My favorite games are playing with my Thomas trains "choo-choo", wooden puzzles, and lego duplos. I have a new red bicycle that I love (but it's still a little too big for me). I enjoy going to the zoo and can imitate the sounds of the monkeys, ducks, cows, and owls. My favorite activity is feeding the birds (see photo below). I can climb up on the big bed at night so mommy and daddy can read me books. My favorite board books are "Little Blue Truck," "Peek-a-who?" "Trucks," and "Moo, Baa, La la la."
