Winter Wonderland

Meeting Santa for the first time at the Volunteer Park Conservatory. He's not so bad.
I'm five months old now! I keep getting bigger and bigger and when people ask how old I am they say, "That's a healthy looking five-month old" when they really mean, "he's the biggest five-month old I've ever seen!" My blond hairs are getting longer (I swear I'm not bald) and my thumbs are working better so I can pick up things and get them into my mouth faster. Mommy says I'm like a bird when I'm hungry because I open my mouth and tilt my head back a little waiting for the bottle or spoon to feed me. I get along great with my nanny, Annie, and I have a new friend, Elliot, who will be in the nanny share with me starting next week. We did a trial day last week and here's a photo of us.

Asleep in Annie's lap after a long day of eating, playing, going for walks, and eating some more.

Yesterday we went to Crystal Mountain, a great ski resort only 90 minutes from Seattle and at 6000 feet it gets a lot more snow than Seattle. I stayed in the lodge and mommy and daddy split the day in half so they could each play with me while the other enjoyed snowboarding in the six inches of fresh powder that was coming down. It was my first time seeing, tasting, and feeling snow and I liked it! It was only 28 degrees and windy and we were happy to be able to drive back to Seattle where it was a balmy 45 and drizzling at the end of the day. I even tried snowboarding... sorta.

Today we went to the Pike Place Market and brought my cousin Danika's friend, Flat Sarah, to take photos. Check them out below.

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

The crew: Mommy, Suneet, Daddy, Dan, Jeremiah, Cameron, Laura and me.

Look at that ice beard!

Hanging out with Flat Stanley's sister, Sarah, as part of a project were were doing for my cousin Danika.

Cameron was not happy that he had to dig his way out of four feet of powder after we got stuck in a valley after taking a tree run. We stuck to the "groomed" trails afterwards.

"What a perfect snow day!" says Mommy. "Fresh powder, upper 20s, hardly anyone around - I love it!"

My first time in the snow!

Kisses! I'm such a good baby!

I like the snow!

Snowboarding is easy!

  1. Oh how special to visit Santa. I hope Theo gets everything he wants for Christmas. He has the best parents around and is the happiest baby. I do know of another baby that was just as big as Theo? The babies name is Katie and look at you now. Love, Grandma Pastorius
