Aunts, and Uncles, and Cousins - Oh My!

A day in the life of El Jefecito

"Come Sail With Me"... next year gramps!
It was another busy week with lots of people staying with Mommy, Daddy and me. I didn't mind all the attention - no sir - they played with me, held me, changed my diapers, took me on hikes, fed me and it was wonderful!  I weigh over 15 pounds now and I am no longer colicky. I laughed for the first time in my sleep in the BabyBjorn in an art gallery, "It was adorable," Daddy said. I also started sleeping eight hours at night which makes everyone happy!

Studly Uncle Dan Comes to Town
First, Uncle Dan (who prefers to be called Studly Uncle, a name which was formerly held by Studly Uncle Larry) came to visit from San Francisco. He is quite the uncle! He bought me two awesome onesies: "If you think I'm cute, you should see my uncle" and "Life is great when you have an uncle like mine." Thanks Studly Uncle! "We," everyone besides me, ate all sorts of great food from Szechuan Chinese to Pacific Northwest oysters, and we even made Peruvian food. We took him on an "easy" three mile hike up a mountain (even though he just had knee surgery, sorry!) and Mommy and Studly Uncle got to go cheer on the Sounders, too.

Beautiful Ladies
Next, Auntie Annie and Cousin Molly (technically she is my first cousin once removed but it doesn't roll off the tongue as well so we shall call her Cousin) came to visit too and we had a full house! We went for a walk to the Dahlia garden, again, and to Volunteer Park Cafe, again, but Mommy says the strata is just sooo good! Anyway, we said goodbye to Studly Uncle Dan and the rest of us went to Whidbey Island. We got to take another ferry ride (my fourth round trip) and we hiked along the bluffs in Fort Ebey State Park which overlook the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca (part of the Puget Sound that connects it to the Pacific Ocean and it's where all the big shipping boats come through). It was overcast but we still had magnificent views! The fort had two large cannon emplacements that guarded the Strait during World War II to protect it from invasion from the Japanese. Fortunately, the invasion never arrived but the remnants of the fort remain.

Last But Not Least, Uncle Keith!
Our final visitor, Uncle Keith, arrived last Thursday and met me for the first time! He looks a lot like someone else I know but without the scratchy beard and gray hair ;)  We relaxed and hung out in Seattle while Mommy and Daddy worked. We went out for oysters, again, and watched a movie. I can't wait to spend more time with him and meet my Tia Nicole and cousins at Thanksgiving!
It was a great week and now I'm stuck at home with Mommy for one more month before she goes back to work full time. I miss everyone and I hope you come back again some day! XOXO!
Love,
Theo

Anne O'Connor, Mommy and I after our delicious lunch at Volunteer Park Cafe.

Studly Uncle Dan was a natural! Now only if we could find him a pretty lady...

My first bus ride. All the ladies we saw thought Studly Uncle Dan was my dad but he quickly said "Oh no! He's my nephew." I wonder why?

What a sunset! Mom's friends Margot and Aric with Mom and Dad.

We match!

At the top of Rattlesnake Ridge, what a hike (I slept the whole way)!

It was only three miles but boy was I tired!

Getting ready to go cheer on the Seattle Sounders vs. big rival Portland Timbers (too bad they made me stay home)!
Pastorius "kids"

Walking up to the top of the Volunteer Park water tower.

Cousin Molly Ann, Mommy, and auntie Annie on the ferry to Whidbey Island.

Can you spot the big ship? We hiked a few miles on the Bluff Trail of Fort Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island.

On a clear day they say you can see the Olympics.

Drift wood tee-pee at Fort Ebey State Park.

Benziger boys - Daddy, Uncle Keith and Theo!

Hey Uncle Keith! I like you!
I'm a Mac Baby, oh yeah!

It's a Macalester reunion: Elliot, Martins, Mommy and me. (Even my blanket is blue and orange like Mac.)
