Getting settled
We have been home from the hospital for two weeks now. WOW! It took us a week to get settled in and as I said before it was a blessing to have my mother, JoAnn, come help us those first few days. We took Theo on his first outing - a free outdoor concert by the Seattle Chamber Music Society in Volunteer Park last week. It was a lovely summer evening and we had a nice picnic with a few friends in the park while listening to Dvořák and Tchaikovsky. It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy a normal night out. Now we have the London Olympics to watch 24/7 which is amazing for those night feeds!
We had our two-week well-child visit today with his pediatrician. He's growing like a weed, nearly 7 pounds! We can tell he's growing because his cries louder and he is holding up his head better when we burp him on our shoulder. Over the past two days, Theo is also sleeping more - nearly four hours at a time - which is much preferred for us compared to last week when he only slept two hours! We started to do "tummy time" (which he hates but we find entertaining as he looks like a turtle flipped upside down flailing his legs).
Here are some photos of Theo over the past two weeks:
Theo the Peanut (on his birthday), 5 pounds 9 ounces (4th percentile compared to full term infants) and 18 inches
Theo the winker (two weeks old), 6 pounds 12 ounces (10th percentile) and 20.5 inches!

My good friend and teammate from Macalester, Annie Borton, is here for the week helping us out. She is the first of many visitors this month - grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends from near and far. We can't wait for everyone to meet Theo so let us know when you are coming to Seattle - we love visitors. Katie and Theo will be in Minnesota September 23-29 as well so mark your calendars!
