6.       What is your favorite food?  Chicken, beef, pork and blueberries, basically meat and fruit
7.       What is your favorite dessert?  Strawberry shortcake and angel food cake
8.       What is your favorite sport?  Soccer
9.       Who are your favorite YouTubers?  LifeStealers, FWhip, Mr. Beast, dream
10.   What is your favorite band or singers?  Kidz Bop, The Fat Rat, Imagine Dragons
11.   What is your favorite song? Star Walkin’ by Lil Nas X and The Nights by Avicii
12.   What is your favorite book? Nonfiction books like Who Was and What Was series, graphic novels like Last Kids on Earth and Nathan Hales, and anything Star Wars
13.   What is your favorite thing to do?  Play with friends and do Legos
14.   What is your favorite TV show?  Anything Star Wars

16.   What is your favorite place? That lodge in Costa Rica with the frogs, Peace Lodge
17.   What does Mom do?  Gets money so we can go places and go shopping and reads with me.  She works.
18.   What does Dad do?  He helps around the house and play games with us
19.   If you had one wish what would be?  I do not know - no wars
20.   What would you buy right now?  Apple Watch
21.   What do you want to be when you grow up?  A professional soccer player and gamer or professional tag player "tagger"
22.   What is your favorite thing to do with Mom?  Play soccer and play games with her
23.   What is your favorite thing to do with Dad? Do Legos and play games with him
24.   If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?  Galapagos
25.   What makes you happy?  Playing with friends
26.   What makes you sad?  Thinking about stuff I don’t want to think about
27.   What is your biggest achievement?  Turning double digits and being a good soccer and basketball player
28.   What is your favorite memory of the year? Screwing around with Wyatt on Whistler ski hill
29.   What is your biggest pet peeve or annoying thing? My sister, Marit
30.   Who is your best friend?  Finley, Fritz, Camden, Harrison (and Marit)
31.   Who do you look up to?  Daddy "I have to actually look up at him - physically and mentally" and Mom
32.   What are the best things about you?  I am kind and good at sports.
33.   What is your best advice?  Be a good sport.


Theo is 5'2" and weighs 87.2 lbs. He has two pet guinea pigs and is very responsible feeding them water, food and hay every morning. He even brought them for "morning meeting" at school one day. He continues to learn piano and did very well at his spring recital. He even volunteered to play one of the pieces as a solo in the prelude to the all-school end of the year performance. 

This year he played traveling 4th grade basketball for Duluth East and traveling soccer with the 2012 Gitchi Gummi club. He went to his first overnight soccer camp in June. 

He was captain of one of the three Math Masters club teams from his school as they competed in the regional competition. His team finished 4th out of 27 fifth grade teams (Theo was only in 4th grade). 

He completed most of the requirements for the Cub Scout rank of Webelo and will be working on becoming a Boy Scout next year. 

He enjoys downhill skiing in the winter and is not interested in learning to snowboard like his parents. He loves to go sledding and catch air on jumps on the Holy Rosary hill. 

On Sunday, he tried water skiing for the first time at the cabin. He got up on his third try and made it all the way around the lake! He also enjoys going tubing and knee boarding. 

This summer, he went disc golfing in Cloquet with Daddy and his friends. He went to mountain biking camp at Spirit Mountain and aquarium camp at the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth. While he's very active and loves playing gaga ball at school, his favorite activity is to play at home is Minecraft on his Nintendo Switch. He watches Minecraft and Star Wars Lego shows on YouTube kids when he can sneak the iPad. He is an avid reader (mostly non-fiction) and plays outside with the neighbors often. 

We are so happy that he's our #1 son and made us parents 11 years ago. We can't wait to see how he will continue to grow (physically and otherwise) in the next year.

Our one trip this summer was a long weekend going downtown - to Chi-town. A quick 1 hour direct flight from Duluth makes it an easy get-a-way with lots of great restaurants and cultural opportunities for the big and little kids. Luck for me, our Thursday night flight was delayed two-hours so that I finished reading all my echocardiograms and cleaned out my Epic in basket with just enough time to spare to get home, change clothes, finish packing and leave our house exactly 1 hour prior to flight departure and still drive to the airport, park, check a bag, get through security, and buy some candy before the plane started boarding! Welcome to the world baby Theo!

   Our little baby, Theodore James, was born at Swedish Hospital in Seattle last week. He was born early because mom developed some preeclampsia which necessitated his sooner-than-expected delivery. Boy was he a peanut - weighing in at 5 lbs. 9 oz.! He had to spend a few days in the Infant Special Care Unit because he had low blood sugar and needed IV fluids and frequent blood sugar monitoring. He was such a champ and tolerated the heel sticks without a peep and didn't mind the continuous heart rate and oxygen saturation monitoring either. We were lucky that he had a full time nurse watching him so we could get some sleep those first nights but then we quickly became accustomed to his rigorous schedule of feeding every three hours - 3, 6, 9, and 12 around the clock to maintain his blood sugars above a certain level. THEO is 12!

THEO! Our baby boy is 12. From 5 lbs, 9 oz and 18 inches to over 90 lbs. and 5' 4", he's not such a little peanut anymore. He enjoys playing lots of sports - soccer, basketball, volleyball, disc golf, mountain biking, and gaga ball in gym. He loves swimming, tubing and knee boarding at the cabin. In the winter he loves sledding at Holy Rosary and skiing at Spirit Mountain. He's in his 6th year of piano with Ms. Roberta and wants to do the drums in middle school next year. His dream day is to play Fortnite all day and night with his friends. He's kind, competitive, and funny.
