4 months old!

 Can you believe it? I am four months old now and feeling pretty good. I had my well-child check up today and the nurse said I weigh 16 lbs. and 8 oz. (80 percentile) and I am 25 3/4 inches (77 percentile) long! They had to do it twice to be sure since I've grown so much since my last visit. I have discovered my hands and I love putting them and everything else they grab into my mouth. The doctor says I can start eating real food soon. Mmmm, steak? Maybe later...

We had a lot of fun with Mommy's Macalester friends Lizz, David, Amy, Matt, and Martins last week. We took the ferry to Bainbridge Island and visited the Bloedel Reserve. Then we had lunch in Poulsbo and Martins made us dinner but I was exhausted so I fell asleep on his bed while the big kids hung out and got a little rowdy.  Thanks for visiting guys- come again soon!

Mommy went back to work this week so I hang out with the nanny during the day. There will be another baby boy, Elliot, who will be coming over to hang out with us as part of a nanny share in December but for now I get the nanny all to myself. I think mommy is going to miss me very much. I can't wait to see all my grandparents and cousins next week at Thanksgiving in Chicago!

    Wow what a nice group of friends you have Katie and Seth. Dad and I just glow when we think about your family. Theo is one lucky baby boy and his parents are equally as wonderful. Katie your talents go well beyond many others and you use them well. You have certainly been a great mom and will continue to stretch yourself to help others as you go back to work. Seth, Katie and Theo are lucky to have you holding down the fort. Good luck with your transitions as Mommy goes back to the hospitals.

I downloaded the SpaceWeather Live app. I allowed push notifications for anything Kp4 or higher, which could signal aurora activity is visible in my area. 2025 Year In Review

Postcards from 2025 January: A postcard from the land of recovery and road trips Greetings from Duluth, where we thawed out from Nutcracker season, packed away the Department 56 villages, and immediately hit the road again for basketball tournaments two hours away, again (and thankful for the extra bedroom at John and JoAnn's). Theo made his percussion debut at his first band concert. Katie launched a New Year's Resolution to try a new art medium each month. January's was printmaking. Wish you were here (to help clean up). Basketball wins Ice skating in January February: A postcard from Snowy Utah Hello from Park City, Utah, where we saw moose and only misplaced one child. Ski patrol searched everywhere, but he eventually strolled into the condo after skiing to the base, putting his skis in the rack and walking a full mile in his ski boots - because he was mad at his sister. Marit turns 6

A little late but better late than never... Birthdays are important milestones. They help us take a step back from the regular routine and reflect on another year of life. We recall the birth of our children and all the changes that have happened over the years. Today is Marit's 6th birthday! Six years ago today, Seth and I drove to the Seattle airport to pick up my parents. We stopped for coffee and donuts (I couldn't have any since I was NPO) and then we checked in to Labor and Delivery at Swedish Medical Center. After we took a few selfies of the bump, the nurse started an IV, and I walked into the C-section suite around noon. Marit was breech and since I had a C-section before, we planned to have a scheduled section just after my MPH finals. Less than an hour later, Marit Marjorie was born.
