Skiing for the first time!

Theo learned how to ski! Skiing at Crystal Mountain Resort We had heard that the mountains had 11 feet of snow last weekend so we decided to head down the Crystal Mountain ski resort near Mount Rainer and check it out. First, we had to find some gear for the little man, which I managed to get thanks to a neighborhood Facebook group called "Buy Nothing Green Lake". People lent us their gear and it was perfect since it doesn't make sense to invest in snow suit and boots when you live somewhere that rarely gets any snow. Then we frantically arranged for a sitter for Marit as our first sitter had to cancel. I also invited one of my co-fellows, Tara Jones, to join us and we headed south. There was a dense fog in the city but as we neared Mount Rainier the clouds disappeared and there was nothing but blue sky and sunshine. It's Christmas time in the city

Our Christmas baby! City sidewalk, busy sidewalks Dressed in holiday style. In the air there's A feeling of Christmas. Children laughing, people passing, Meeting smile after smile, And on every street corner you'll hear: Silver bells, silver bells, It's Christmas time in the city. Ring-a-ling, hear them ring, Soon it will be Christmas day. We spent the week of Christmas in Chicago this year. We had an action packed week that started with a surprise visit by Uncle Drew from Hawaii! We hadn't seen him since our wedding in Costa Rica nearly five years ago! Hopefully we'll get to visit him in Honolulu some day soon. Long lost brothers - Bob and Andrew Then we had a big party for Marit's first birthday on Sunday (see  prior blog post ).
