Port Townsend for a day

Image
We headed to Port Townsend for a day before the Pastorius clan left town. It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed taking the Kingston Ferry, dinner at the Weber home, and a short hike to the beach so Theo could do what he does best, throw rocks! We also got into the Christmas spirit and got our Christmas tree decorated with the help of some little hands (and we didn't break any ornaments this year!) Happy 1st Birthday Marit!

Newborn picture and 1st birthday - what a difference a year makes! It's so hard getting old! I turned 1! First, we had a small celebration at our home in Seattle. Uncle Dan and Theo made me cupcakes on my actual birthday as Mommy had to work all weekend. They were delicious and we devoured them. Theo prefers just the frosting and so he fed me his leftover cake. We opened a few presents and then had a big party with the rest of my extended family in Chicago the following weekend. It was fun to see my big cousins - Maya, Zachary, and Danika, as well as a surprise visit from my little cousin, Evelyn, and Auntie Annie. All four of my grandparents were there, too! I slept through half the party but woke up just in time for some more cupcakes - chocolate this time. Yummy! Birthday cupcake! Since I had had practice the weekend before, I carefully picked it up and devoured the entire cupcake while over 20 people watched and laughed. The public humiliation begins...better get...
